For those of you who have chosen to lead a vegan lifestyle, we know how much it means to have vegan made shoes. Lola Ramona offers both vegan & leather styles so everyone can enjoy our shoes - just the way they like them.

Leather lovers can wear vegan shoes if they choose, but vegans only wear products made without any animal by-products. We try our best to ensure that the materials of both options are as comfortable and breathable as possible.

All of our bags and a variety of our shoes are completely vegan.

Lola Ramona has been making shoes in vegan leather for many years. There are a lot of different materials on the market and it's an arduous process to find the best, most flexible, and breathable alternatives to leather - and we are always looking for innovative new options. It is important to us that your feet are able to breathe while wearing artificial leather and that the materials we choose live up to our standards of quality and appearance.

What is vegan leather?
Vegan leather is made out of synthetic fibers that are processed to resemble the texture of natural fibers. This is done by shredding synthetic materials into little granules. The granules are then pressed on top of a cotton fiber material to make a single sheet to cut the patterns from. This technique makes the material breathable, since there are little air pockets that allow circulation between the granules, similar to the way cotton works or other natural fibered products like apple leather or cork.
The glues used for the shoes are completely free of animal products.
The vegan textiles and materials used in the production of our vegan shoes include: satin, suede, patent, pleather, cork, pineapple, and of course all kinds of textiles.
What does Vegan leather stand for?
Over the years, vegan leather has had many different names. PU (polyurethane), artificial leather, faux leather, or vegan leather (pleather).
Vegan versions of products have been around for many years, but like everything else over the years, it's improved by leaps and bounds.
Pleather is a term used to describe a material that is almost like leather. A lot of people think pleather makes your feet sweat. The special texture of the pleather we use ensures your feet have adequate circulation, reducing heat and discomfort.
Vegan leather is a term used to describe a product that does not contain animal by-products and is cruelty-free. All of our vegan products are recognizable by the green kiss stamp on product’s picture on our website.
Is Vegan leather for everybody?
The simple answer is YES!
Vegan shoes are just as comfortable and our handbags look just as plush. Our vegan products are just as durable as our leather products. The shoes are made from the same lasts, have the same fittings, and the same comfort and good quality.  They are soft and comfortable and will mould to your feet over time.
A big plus for vegan shoes is that they are easy to clean - all you need is a damp cloth. Vegan leather is waterproof, so if you get caught in the rain, your shoes will be fine and you won't get wet feet. Unless of course you like jumping in muddy puddles!
Vegan leather and regular animal leather are similarly priced. Many people think that vegan leather should be cheaper. However, the process of creating the shoe, the labour and the materials are the same.

How can I tell if my shoes are made from vegan leather?
It can sometimes be hard to tell the difference between vegan and real leather. All of our vegan leather shoes are marked with our own symbol, a green kiss, and will always be listed as VEGAN on the website. You can also look at the label under your shoe to see what it is made of. Our vegan leather is marked as "other material".
How do I find vegan shoes on the website?
There is a section for vegan shoes on the website. Search for “Vegan”.
